Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club — Nippers

Nippers introduces children aged 5–15 to surf awareness, safety and age-appropriate beach activities. These can include wading, running, ocean swimming, board paddling and lifesaving skills. Parents and carers can also become involved as age managers or club officials.

Wishing Well Play Therapy and Social Work

This appointment-only Tannum Sands practice provides play therapy, social work and counselling for children, young people, families and adults. Home visits and sessions in community settings are available. Child and youth therapy is listed for ages nine and over, with self-managed or plan-managed NDIS sessions accepted.

The Lizard Centre

Serving Tannum Sands, Gladstone and Calliope, the centre provides early-childhood intervention, school-aged, parent and positive behaviour support programs for children and adolescents with autism, developmental delay or behaviours of concern. Support is delivered in the child’s home, school or kindergarten.

Act for Kids Gladstone

Therapy, specialist therapy, education and family services are available for children, young people and families. Programs include protective behaviours for Grade 1, early education for ages 2.5–5 and an in-home parenting curriculum for families with children aged 0–5. Relevant services use referral forms.

Young people aged 12–25 can access free, confidential help with mental health, alcohol and other drugs, physical health, work or study. No referral is required, and a young person, family member or friend may make contact. Appointments are offered face-to-face, by phone or via telehealth.

Gladstone Women’s Health Services

Free counselling and support are available to women and children across Central Queensland, including help relating to domestic and family violence or sexual assault. Child and youth counselling, case management and workshops support young people affected by domestic and family violence. Appointments can be arranged by phone.

Carers Queensland

Carer Services offers information, advice and referrals statewide, but not case management, respite or crisis support.
